The Lincoln Archives Digital Project

http://www.lincolnarchives.org

This project was launched in March of 2002. The goal of the project is to digitize all executive, legislative, judicial, and military records created during the presidency of Abraham Lincoln. These records, mostly in cursive, are being transcribed to provide full search capabilities.

These records are organized online, by Record Group, then by Entry, just as if you are physically, in the National Archives. And the records are organized chronologically, alphabetically, or by case number. We do make exceptions, for example the Civil War Court martials are organized in NARA by case number, but you, the researcher will be searching by the name of the soldier, so we have chosen to organize these records in alphabetical order.

The website is a work in Progress, but a public service project for global access to these records.
